The San Francisco 49ers are hopeful that star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will return to the field around Week 6 of the NFL season, despite a rash of injuries hitting the team’s wide receiver room.
Aiyuk has been rehabbing a torn ACL and MCL suffered in Week 7 of last season. Coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that Aiyuk’s return is targeted for around Week 6, but noted it’s a fluid situation and the timeline could change.
Other 49ers players, including safety Malik Mustapha and quarterback Kurtis Rourke, are also dealing with ACL injuries and are expected to return around the same time ¹ ².
