PITTSBURGH — The Steelers’ defense is getting reinforcements for Sunday’s matchup against Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.
Defensive tackle Cam Heyward and cornerback Darius Slay both shed their “questionable” tags and are officially cleared to play after Saturday’s walkthrough, the team announced.
Heyward had been nursing an ankle issue that left him in a walking boot after Friday’s session, while Slay was limited as he finished the final stages of concussion protocol. Both were limited participants Friday but are now good to go.
On the offensive side, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still listed as questionable with a fractured left wrist. The veteran was a non-participant Wednesday before logging limited reps Thursday and Friday while wearing a black stabilizer. Rodgers has said his availability will hinge on whether he can adequately protect himself in the pocket.
