Russell Wilson is Giants’ starting QB as camp begins, Daboll says

Russell Wilson is definitely the starting quarterback as the New York Giants kick off their training camp, Coach Brian Daboll announced on Wednesday.

“These players will be out here competing, but Russ is our starter,” Daboll stated.

The Giants brought in Wilson and another quarterback, Jameis Winston, during free agency and also picked Jaxson Dart in the first round of this year’s draft.

Wilson, who has made it to the Pro Bowl ten times, signed a one-year deal and quickly became a leader and respected voice during the team’s offseason activities.

He organized throwing sessions with various teammates in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Atlanta throughout the offseason.

Last season, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, starting 11 games. He threw for 2,482 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 63.7% of his passes.
