Notre Dame OL Charles Jagusah fractures arm in UTV accident

Notre Dame offensive lineman Charles Jagusah is on the mend after having surgery to fix a broken bone in his left arm. This injury happened during a utility terrain vehicle accident on Saturday in Wyoming.

The team shared that Jagusah will come back to campus early this week for more checks, and the outlook from his surgery, which fixed the fractured bone in his upper arm, is “favorable.”

This accident adds to the challenges for Jagusah, who was expected to be the starting left tackle for Notre Dame in the 2024 season. Earlier in training camp, he tore a pectoral muscle and missed the entire regular season.

However, he returned to help the Fighting Irish during their College Football Playoff journey, stepping in for Rocco Spindler at right guard and eventually starting at left tackle in the national championship game against Ohio State.

Jagusah is set to begin as a guard for Notre Dame in 2025, although the team has not shared a specific timeline for his return.

Standing at 6 feet 7 inches and weighing 333 pounds, Jagusah is part of a young offensive line at Notre Dame that aims to be among the best in the country. Even though they lost experienced players like Spindler (to Nebraska), Pat Coogan (to Indiana), and Sam Pendleton (to Tennessee) through the transfer portal, Notre Dame still has promising talents such as left tackle Anthonie Knapp and center Ashton Craig.

In the 2023 recruiting class, Jagusah ranked as the No. 7 tackle and was the No. 66 overall recruit. Notre Dame will kick off its season on August 31 against Miami.
