New York Islanders’ Bo Horvat Day-to-Day with Lower-Body Injury

NEW YORK — New York Islanders captain and leading scorer Bo Horvat is listed as day-to-day after sustaining a lower-body injury during Thursday night’s 5-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks, head coach Patrick Roy confirmed to reporters.

The incident occurred at the 6:52 mark when Horvat got tangled up with Ducks defenseman Drew Helleson. Horvat’s left ankle appeared to twist awkwardly as he fell, causing him to limp off the ice and head straight to the locker room without returning.

The 30-year-old center, who leads the Islanders with 19 goals and 31 points this season, has been a model of durability, appearing in every game so far and playing 81 contests in each of the previous two campaigns (notching 28 goals last season and 33 in 2023-24).
