Manchester City are in advanced discussions over a move for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, sources have it.
The Premier League champions are aiming to complete the transfer early in the January window, which opens on Thursday.
Further talks with Semenyo’s representatives are expected this week, and Bournemouth have been informed of City’s plan to meet the 25-year-old’s release clause.
Semenyo can leave for £65 million ($87.6m) before January 10.
Although Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal have all registered interest, sources say Manchester City are currently leading the race to sign him.

Club executives have accelerated talks and opened discussions with Bournemouth after being made aware of Semenyo’s desire to join Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Bournemouth are scheduled to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, ahead of the official opening of the January transfer window.
Semenyo has found the net in each of his last three outings, taking his tally to nine goals from 17 Premier League matches this season.
Manchester City’s opening fixture of 2026 also comes against Chelsea, with Enzo Maresca’s side set to travel to the Etihad on January 4.
A potential arrival of Semenyo could pave the way for a January exit for Oscar Bobb.
Meanwhile, Claudio Echeverri’s loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen has been cut short, and sources have told ESPN that the Argentine is expected to move out again on a temporary basis, with a switch to City’s sister club Girona currently the preferred option.
