LeBron James has confirmed he has no plans to join any ownership group pursuing a potential NBA expansion franchise in Las Vegas, shutting down earlier speculation about his involvement.
Speaking after leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-116 victory over the Houston Rockets, James made his stance clear, stating he is “not at all” interested in participating in a bid for a new team.
The four-time NBA champion had previously expressed enthusiasm for bringing a franchise to Las Vegas, notably during a 2022 episode of his show The Shop, where he voiced his desire to see a team based in the city.
However, with the NBA preparing to vote on moving forward with expansion plans in Las Vegas and Seattle, James has now distanced himself from any ownership ambitions tied to the process.
Reports indicate that potential expansion bids could range between $7 billion and $10 billion per franchise, highlighting the massive financial stakes involved as the league considers adding new teams.
