The Cincinnati Bengals will turn to veteran quarterback Joe Flacco as their starter this Sunday when they take on the Green Bay Packers, head coach Zac Taylor announced on Wednesday.
Flacco, 40, was acquired by the Bengals just a day earlier in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. In the deal, Cincinnati received Flacco and a 2026 sixth-round pick in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick.
This won’t be the first time Flacco faces the Packers this season — he previously started against them in Week 3 while playing for Cleveland. The Browns won that matchup 13-10.
Flacco steps in to replace Jake Browning, who has started the last three games in place of the injured Joe Burrow. During that stretch, the Bengals went 0-3 and Browning struggled, throwing eight interceptions across the three starts.
With a 2-3 record, the Bengals are hoping Flacco’s experience can help stabilize the offense and get the team back on track.
