The Winnipeg Jets secured forward Gabriel Vilardi on Friday by signing him to a six-year contract extension worth $45 million.
Vilardi became a restricted free agent on July 1 after finishing a two-year deal worth $6.88 million. In the 2024-25 season, he achieved personal bests with 27 goals, 34 assists, and a total of 61 points over 71 games.

The 25-year-old from Kingston, Ontario, contributed one goal and three assists in nine playoff games. He had missed the last 11 regular-season games and the first four playoff games due to an upper-body injury.
The Jets brought Vilardi on board in June 2023 through a trade that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings. Throughout his six seasons with Los Angeles and Winnipeg, he has scored 90 goals and provided 85 assists in 270 regular-season games.
