New York Knicks standout Jalen Brunson will suit up once again on Wednesday evening versus the Dallas Mavericks, having sat out the previous week because of a Grade 1 sprain in his right ankle.

Brunson picked up the injury on November 12 during a drive toward the hoop with less than two minutes left in the Knicks’ 124-107 defeat at home to the Orlando Magic. He underwent daily assessments during his absence from two matchups against the Miami Heat.
The sprain affected the identical ankle that Brunson twisted last year, leading to a 15-game absence; it was first projected as a two-week setback, though he ended up sidelined longer before rejoining the lineup for the postseason. He appeared to worsen the ankle issue on a few occasions in the opening playoff round, yet it otherwise didn’t seem to hinder him much as New York advanced to the Eastern Conference finals.
Heading into Wednesday, Brunson was putting up 28 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists on average each game for the 8-5 Knicks.
