Inter Miami, LA Galaxy, and Al Ittihad Eye Casemiro Ahead of Free Transfer

MLS clubs Inter Miami and LA Galaxy, along with Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad, are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro on a free transfer next season, according to sources.

Casemiro announced in January that he will leave Manchester United when his contract expires on June 30, ending his tenure in the Premier League. At 34, the Brazil international is said to still feel capable of competing at a high level, and several clubs have reached out to explore opportunities.

MLS Interest: Inter Miami and LA Galaxy

Sources have confirmed that both Miami and LA Galaxy have contacted Casemiro in recent days, though no formal offers have been submitted yet. However, both MLS teams face challenges: their designated player slots are currently full, meaning roster adjustments would be required to accommodate the midfielder.

Al Ittihad are also reportedly monitoring Casemiro closely, eager to strengthen their squad after the departure of Karim Benzema to Al Hilal in February. The potential deal could be linked to the future of current Al Ittihad midfielder Fabinho, who is out of contract this summer. Fabinho’s decision to stay or leave may impact Casemiro’s move to the Saudi club.

Casemiro’s Status at Manchester United

Despite his impending exit, Casemiro has enjoyed a resurgence under interim manager Michael Carrick, prompting fans to call for him to remain at United. After scoring in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa on March 15, supporters chanted “one more year,” reflecting his importance to the team.

Teammate Lenny Yoro also praised Casemiro, highlighting his leadership and experience. “Everyone wanted him to stay,” Yoro said. “He’s a player really important for us. Even in the dressing room, his experience helps us both on and off the pitch.”

While Manchester United retain the option to trigger a one-year contract extension, both parties agreed in January that Casemiro would depart this summer. Carrick has hinted that this decision will not be reversed, despite the midfielder’s key role in recent performances.
