BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is on the verge of breaking the NFL’s single-season sack record and says it would be “special” to achieve the milestone against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Sunday’s home finale.

Garrett has 22 sacks this season, just half a sack shy of tying the record held by Hall of Famer Michael Strahan and Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt, and needs one more sack to set a new single-season mark.
“[Rodgers is] legendary himself, and it’s a legendary record I’m chasing,” Garrett said Friday. “That’d be a great one to put a picture on the wall with.”
In two career matchups against Rodgers, Garrett has yet to record a sack, including their first meeting this season in a 23-9 Steelers win in Week 6. However, Garrett has excelled at home against Pittsburgh recently, tallying five sacks in the past two Browns victories.
“Myles Garrett has certainly been an issue for us in that venue,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “He’s had five sacks in our last two trips, neither of which we won. We understand the gravity of what we’re facing and the role he plays in their success. He’s on the doorstep of history, and we respect that.”
