FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, but head coach Raheem Morris strongly expects his top receiver to suit up.
“He’s playing,” Morris confidently stated.
London has missed four consecutive games due to a strained left PCL suffered during the Nov. 16 loss to the Carolina Panthers — the same game that saw quarterback Michael Penix Jr. tear his ACL and end his season. Sunday’s game is set to mark London’s first start with quarterback Kirk Cousins since last year. He participated in practice this week in a limited role.
The star receiver revealed he has also battled shoulder and hip injuries throughout the season.
“I’ve been fighting to be on the field every week,” London said Thursday. “My body hasn’t held up great this year, so maybe the time off was a blessing. I’m just pushing to get back out there.”
Before the injury, London recorded 60 receptions for 810 yards and six touchdowns, ranking third in the NFL in receiving yards per game (90), trailing only Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua.
Coach Morris emphasized London’s importance to the offense, calling him vital to both the passing game and run blocking.
“Everything we do in the passing game runs through Drake,” Morris said. “He’s our emotional spark, and he’s always at the point of attack.”
