Enrico Cardile starts at Aston Martin after Ferrari dispute

Aston Martin has officially welcomed Enrico Cardile as its new Chief Technical Officer, marking a significant coup for the Formula 1 team.

Cardile, who departed Ferrari’s technical director role mid-2024, had a delayed start due to a dispute over his joining date. Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll has been on a recruitment drive to boost the team’s championship prospects, also securing high-profile hires like Adrian Newey and Andy Cowell.

After a court battle, Cardile was cleared to join Aston Martin on July 18, ending Ferrari’s efforts to block his move due to non-compete agreements.

Enrico Cardile’s gardening leave has come to an end, and he has officially started work at Aston Martin.

Aston Martin has confirmed Enrico Cardile has begun his new role as Chief Technical Officer, leading the team’s design and technical functions.

Cardile joins a star-studded lineup that includes F1 design legend Adrian Newey and former Mercedes engine guru Andy Cowell, who will oversee him as Team Principal and Group CEO.

This powerhouse trio is expected to drive Aston Martin’s push for championships in the new F1 era starting next season, which features new rules and regulations.

The team is also set to benefit from an exclusive partnership with Honda engines, after parting ways with Mercedes, and has invested in a state-of-the-art F1 facility near the Silverstone circuit.
