Goaltender Lukas Dostal signed a five-year contract extension to stay with the Anaheim Ducks, the team announced on Thursday.
According to The Athletic, the contract is worth $32.5 million and has an average annual value of $6.5 million.
“Lukas has shown that he is a top goaltender, and we are very happy to finalize this deal,” said Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek. “He is just starting his prime years, and his best hockey is still ahead.”
Last season, Dostal, 25, had a record of 23 wins, 23 losses, and 7 overtime losses with one shutout. He averaged 3.10 goals against per game and had a .903 save percentage in 54 games (49 starts).
Dostal shared goalie duties with John Gibson, who was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on June 28 for fellow goalie Petr Mrazek, along with a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL draft and a second-round pick in 2027.
“I’m super excited to say that I’m staying in Anaheim for another five years,” Dostal said in a video message to fans shared by the Ducks on X, formerly Twitter.
“I love playing in front of you all and enjoy living in this community. We are a growing team, and I can’t wait to see you soon at the Honda Center.”
In his career with the Ducks, Dostal has a record of 42 wins, 58 losses, and 13 overtime losses with two shutouts, averaging 3.29 goals against per game and holding a .902 save percentage over 121 appearances (107 starts).
