KaVontae Turpin, the All-Pro kick returner for the Dallas Cowboys, was arrested on Saturday by the Allen Police Department in Texas. He faces two misdemeanor charges, as stated in online records.

The 28-year-old Turpin was taken to the Collin County Jail for possessing less than 2 ounces of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a weapon. He was released on Sunday after paying a $1,500 bond.
In March, Turpin signed a three-year contract extension worth $18 million with the Cowboys and also plays as a wide receiver. During his first year with the new kickoff rules, he led the NFL with an average of 33.5 yards per return and scored a touchdown with a 99-yard return against the Washington Commanders.
This average is one of the highest since the NFL merged in 1970. Additionally, he had a punt return for a touchdown, making him the only player last season to score on both kick and punt returns.
Turpin made history as the first Cowboy to achieve touchdowns on punts, kickoffs, and receiving in one season. He recorded a career-high 31 catches for 420 yards and two touchdowns, including one that went for 64 yards.
