Chelsea is keeping a close eye on Alejandro Garnacho’s situation at Manchester United, according to sources from ESPN. However, they can only sign the winger if some players leave Stamford Bridge first.
ESPN reports that Chelsea would likely need to sell Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. This comes even though Manchester United has reduced their asking price from £70 million ($81 million) to £40 million ($46 million).
Garnacho did not join United’s preseason tour in the United States, along with Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho, because he is not part of coach Ruben Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season.
Aston Villa and some clubs in the Saudi Pro League are interested in signing him.
Aston Villa’s coach, Unai Emery, thinks Garnacho could fit well into his game plan. However, a source informed ESPN that Garnacho would rather join a team that plays in the Champions League.
According to sources, Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League and is still in England while he figures out what to do next.
Chelsea reached out to try to sign the winger back in January and have been monitoring his situation since then.
