Arizona rewards baseball coach Chip Hale with 4-year extension.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona has renewed baseball coach Chip Hale’s contract for four more years, extending it through 2030 after he guided the Wildcats back to the Men’s College World Series.

Arizona Baseball Head Coach: Chip Hale

The details of the agreement, announced on Monday, are not yet public and still require approval from the Arizona Board of Regents.

“Arizona Baseball has always been one of the top programs in the country, and coach Chip Hale has upheld that tradition while raising our standards,” said Desiree Reed-Francois, Arizona’s athletic director.

“He takes pride in being a Wildcat, is a strong leader, and represents the University of Arizona very well. With Chip at the helm, we are in a great position to chase championships and help develop outstanding young men both on and off the field.”

Since returning to Tucson to coach his alma mater in 2021, Hale has taken Arizona to the NCAA Tournament four times in a row. This year marked their return to the Men’s College World Series for the first time since 2021.

Hale, who previously managed the Arizona Diamondbacks, has led Arizona to win consecutive conference tournament titles and has coached six All-Americans along with two players who were picked in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft.
