Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star guard Darius Garland underwent surgery on Monday to fix the injury on his left big toe, which caused him problems during the playoffs. He is anticipated to be out for four to five months.

The Cavs stated that they believe Garland will “fully recover and return to basketball activities by the start of training camp” in October. However, he is likely to miss some time at the beginning of the regular season.
Garland first learned about his injury on March 23 while in Utah but only missed two games during the regular season. He made the injury worse during Cleveland’s first-round playoff series against the Miami Heat and ended up sitting out four playoff games.
