Philadelphia Eagles have strengthened their receiving unit after acquiring wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, sources confirmed. In return, Green Bay will receive a fifth-round pick in this year’s draft and a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft.

As part of the move, Wicks’ agent David Mulugheta confirmed that the Eagles have also agreed to a one-year, $12.5 million contract extension with the wide receiver. Philadelphia announced both the trade and extension on Saturday, though financial details were not officially disclosed. The deal keeps Wicks under contract through the 2027 season after he was previously entering the final year of his rookie deal.
Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Wicks recorded 30 receptions for 332 yards and two touchdowns last season. Both touchdowns came in a standout Thanksgiving performance against the Detroit Lions, where he finished with six catches for 94 yards in his best outing of the year.
The addition of Wicks provides the Eagles with additional depth at wide receiver and could influence future roster decisions, including potential trade discussions involving star wideout A.J. Brown. Philadelphia continues to strengthen its offensive options as it prepares for the upcoming season.
For the Packers, the trade adds valuable draft capital over the next two years while maintaining depth at wide receiver. Despite the departure of Wicks and previous losses in free agency, Green Bay still features a strong receiving group led by Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and first-round pick Matthew Golden.
The Packers have also added Skyy Moore in free agency and expect tight end Tucker Kraft to return from injury, continuing to give quarterback Jordan Love multiple reliable targets. With their depth at the position, Green Bay likely moved Wicks to maximize value before he reached free agency.
