Crystal Palace have officially confirmed the signing of forward Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £35 million. The transfer was agreed earlier this week, with the Wales international successfully completing his medical on Thursday.
Johnson took time to consider his options before finalising the move, with AFC Bournemouth also showing strong interest as they look to replace Antoine Semenyo, who is expected to join Manchester City. However, positive discussions with Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner proved decisive, convincing the 24-year-old to make the switch to south London. Johnson will wear the No. 11 shirt at Selhurst Park.
The signing is a significant boost for Glasner, who is looking to strengthen his squad as Palace prepare for the demands of competing in European football for the first time in the club’s history. The Eagles currently sit tenth in the Europa Conference League, and additional attacking depth was a priority, especially with Daichi Kamada sidelined through injury and Ismaïla Sarr away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jean-Philippe Mateta remains Palace’s primary striker, supported by attacking options including Yéremy Pino, Eddie Nketiah and Justin Devenny. Johnson’s arrival adds pace, versatility and proven goalscoring ability to the squad.
“I’m really delighted that Brennan has joined the club,” Glasner said. “He comes in very early in the transfer window, and credit goes to the club for moving so quickly. His pace and finishing will give us more attacking options, and with a busy schedule ahead, he will be an important addition.”
Johnson enjoyed an impressive season with Tottenham, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 18 goals in all competitions. His standout moment came in the Europa League final, where he scored the decisive goal in Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Manchester United. He originally joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in September 2023 for £47.5 million.
