Browns’ Shedeur Sanders and Jerry Jeudy Brush Off Sideline Exchange as “Just Football”

BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy on Wednesday played down a fiery sideline moment that cameras captured during Sunday’s 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Early in the fourth quarter, CBS showed Jeudy gesturing emphatically while reviewing a tablet with Sanders. The rookie QB stood up, responded, and appeared to shake his head in disagreement.

“It’s resolved,” Sanders said. “We’re not talking about it anymore.”

Jeudy echoed the sentiment: “We already handled it. We’re good. This is an emotional game—stuff like that happens. It’s football.”

Jeudy, coming off a career-year and his first Pro Bowl selection in 2024 (90 catches, 1,229 yards), has endured a frustrating 2025 campaign. He’s on pace for career lows in receptions and has just one touchdown, while his six drops are tied for third-most in the league.

Sanders, a fifth-round pick thrust into the starting role in Week 12 after beginning the year fourth on the depth chart, said building chemistry with Jeudy has been the biggest hurdle.

“Trust is everything right now,” Sanders explained. “The details, the timing, the little movements—that’s how I get comfortable and play my best. This isn’t a normal situation; it’s not the traditional rookie year. Everything’s accelerated. You just take risks and figure it out on the fly. That’s the challenge, and we’ll get through it.”

When asked if he’d do anything differently, Jeudy replied, “Probably just talk to him away from the cameras. But I’m always going to speak up when I see something. At the end of the day, me and Shedeur are straight. That’s football.”

Head coach Kevin Stefanski had already declared the matter closed on Monday.

“Football is emotional,” Stefanski said. “We’re a family. Families disagree—sometimes in front of everybody, sometimes behind closed doors. We talk it out and move on. I’m not concerned.”
