Eagles OC Kevin Patullo on Home Vandalism: “When It Involves Your Family, the Line Is Crossed”

PHILADELPHIA — Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo addressed the egging of his New Jersey home for the first time Wednesday, saying the incident crossed an unacceptable boundary because it targeted his family.

“This is an unbelievable place to coach and play — the passion here is unlike anywhere else,” Patullo said at his weekly media session. “We’ve hosted two NFC Championship wins, a Super Bowl, the parade — it’s special. As coaches and players, we sign up for criticism. We can stand here and talk schemes, fixes, whatever. That comes with the territory.

“But when it reaches your family and your home, that’s where the line gets crossed. That happened. Now we just move forward. My family, the team — everyone is focused on one thing: winning this week.”

Moorestown police confirmed Patullo’s home was egged early Saturday morning, hours after Philadelphia’s upset loss to the Bears. Video circulated on social media showing several individuals hurling objects at the house; police verified the projectiles were eggs. The investigation remains active.

Patullo, 44, has faced heavy scrutiny as the NFL’s highest-paid offense has struggled to 24th in total yards (304.8 per game), 23rd in passing, 22nd in rushing, and 19th in scoring this season. He was elevated to offensive coordinator this offseason after Kellen Moore left for the Saints’ head-coaching job.

Head coach Nick Sirianni reaffirmed Monday that Patullo will continue calling plays despite the team’s two-game skid that has dropped the Eagles to 8-4.

Patullo credited Sirianni and past mentors for preparing him for the pressure that comes with the job, adding, “The challenge is what makes it rewarding. You hope the good memories outweigh the bad, and moments like this define your career — but they don’t define you as a person or your family.”

He emphasized the importance of keeping work and home separate, saying the outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming.

“We’ve had an incredible experience in Philadelphia,” Patullo said. “It’s a unique, passionate place to work, and I’m excited for the games ahead and finishing this season the right way.”
