Manchester City needed a 90th+10-minute winner from Phil Foden to edge a chaotic 3-2 victory over relegation-threatened Leeds at the Etihad on Saturday.
Foden had given City a dream start with a volley after just 59 seconds, and Josko Gvardiol made it 2-0 before halftime. City looked in complete control until a second-half collapse allowed Leeds to sensationally draw level.

A horrendous error by Matheus Nunes gifted Dominic Calvert-Lewin a tap-in shortly after the substitute’s introduction, and minutes later Gvardiol fouled Calvert-Lewin for a penalty. Lukas Nmecha’s initial spot-kick was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but he buried the rebound.
With Daniel Farke’s side on the verge of a priceless point, ten minutes of stoppage time proved decisive. Foden stepped up again, drilling a low shot into the corner to spark relief around the stadium and deny Leeds a famous comeback.
The result spared City further embarrassment after dominating the first half — where they could have been four or five up — but once more exposed defensive fragility that nearly cost them dearly against a side fighting for survival.
