The Dallas Mavericks announced Tuesday that center Dereck Lively II will miss at least the next three games as he undergoes further evaluation for swelling and discomfort in his previously surgically repaired right foot.
Lively had surgery in July to remove bone spurs from the foot. He has a history of lower-leg issues, including missing over two months last season with a right ankle stress fracture and sitting out nine games earlier this season with a sprained right knee (returning November 14).
Although he had already missed the last two games, the team updated his injury designation from “right knee injury management” to “right foot injury management” ahead of Monday’s loss in Miami.
Dallas expects to provide an updated timeline for Lively’s return in about 7–10 days.
