Suns’ Jalen Green Reinjures Hamstring, Ruled Out vs. Clippers

Phoenix, AZ — Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green suffered another setback after appearing to re-aggravate his right hamstring injury during the first quarter of Saturday’s 114–103 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The injury occurred with just over 40 seconds remaining in the opening quarter when Green pulled up awkwardly while driving to the basket. He limped through the rest of the possession and needed assistance leaving the court. Shortly afterward, the Suns ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Green has been battling a right hamstring issue since training camp, initially injuring it before the season began and re-aggravating it during the team’s preseason trip to China. The 22-year-old guard missed Phoenix’s first eight games before finally making his Suns debut in Thursday’s win — also against the Clippers.

The Suns acquired Green from the Houston Rockets in a blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to Houston earlier this season. Before exiting Saturday’s game, Green managed two points in seven minutes of play.

Phoenix has not yet provided an update on the severity of the injury or a potential return timeline.
