Cardinals to place QB Kyler Murray on injured reserve due to foot injury

On Wednesday, the Arizona Cardinals announced that quarterback Kyler Murray is being placed on injured reserve because of a foot injury, which will sideline him for at least four games.

The team noted that this decision allows Murray—who has been absent since October 5—to concentrate on rehabilitating his foot, and he is fully dedicated to returning as quickly as possible.

Jacoby Brissett will make his fourth consecutive start for the Cardinals on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, sources say Murray and the team have sought opinions from several foot specialists, who indicated a recovery timeline of four to eight weeks due to the risk of re-injury if the foot does not heal fully.

An eight-week recovery would keep Murray sidelined through Arizona’s Week 13 matchup at Tampa Bay on November 30. In his three starts, Brissett has averaged 286 passing yards, with six touchdowns and one interception, while the offense has averaged 25.7 points and 357 total yards per game.
