The father of Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown faces charges of attempted murder linked to a stabbing incident that occurred Wednesday night in Las Vegas, as reported by several sources.
Quenton M. Brown, aged 57, was taken into custody on Thursday morning and later placed in the Clark County Detention Center. He appeared in court for the first time on Thursday afternoon and is scheduled to return on Tuesday. His bail has been established at $300,000.
According to the Las Vegas police, the stabbing took place following a dispute between two individuals in a parking lot. It is claimed that Brown accidentally damaged the other person’s vehicle when exiting his SUV, which initiated the confrontation. The police report states that Brown allegedly stabbed the other person multiple times when their back was turned.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is now recovering following surgery, according to officials.
The attorney representing Brown stated that his client was the initial target of the attack and that the stabbing constituted an act of self-defense.
Jaylen Brown, a four-time All-Star and the 2024 Finals MVP, has been a member of the Celtics since his selection in the 2016 draft.
