Manchester United officially announced on Saturday that they have acquired striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, signing him to a five-year deal pending registration. According to sources, the transaction is valued at around €85 million ($98.8 million), which encompasses performance-related bonuses.
The source further indicated that Leipzig considers these bonuses attainable and that the agreement features a sell-on clause allowing them to receive a portion of any future transfer fee. Additionally, the clubs will arrange a friendly match in the future.
“The legacy of Manchester United is truly remarkable, but what excites me most is what lies ahead,” Sesko expressed. “When we talked about the project, it became apparent that everything is aligned for this team to keep evolving and contend for the top prizes again in the near future.
From the first moment I stepped foot here, I sensed the vibrant atmosphere and the familial spirit that the club fosters. It is undoubtedly the ideal environment for me to reach my highest potential and achieve all of my goals.
I am eager to start learning from Ruben [Amorim] and building relationships with my teammates to secure the success we all believe is within our reach.”

United triumphed over Newcastle United to secure the highly sought-after Slovenia international.
As per sources shared with ESPN, despite Newcastle’s multiple offers for Sesko, he clearly indicated that his desire was to join Old Trafford.
The acquisition of Sesko adds to the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, pushing United’s summer expenditure past the £200 million threshold. He is expected to be a key player in Ruben Amorim’s revamped offensive setup.
Last season, the striker netted 21 goals in 45 matches for Leipzig across all tournaments and had a prior stint at RB Salzburg before his transfer to Germany in 2023.
