The San Francisco 49ers will be missing several key offensive players when they take on the Los Angeles Rams this Thursday night. Quarterback Brock Purdy, along with wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings, have all been officially ruled out for the game.
Purdy, who has been nursing a toe injury that sidelined him in Weeks 2 and 3, returned to action last weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed on Monday that the quarterback is still experiencing lingering soreness, making it unwise to push him in a short week.
Pearsall (knee) and Jennings (ribs/ankle) were both unable to participate in Tuesday’s practice and will also sit out Thursday’s matchup.
In addition, the 49ers have ruled out wide receiver Jordan Watkins (calf) and defensive end Robert Beal Jr. (ankle). Defensive tackle CJ West is listed as questionable with a thumb injury.
