The San Francisco 49ers will be without tight end George Kittle for several weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during their 17-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, according to coach Kyle Shanahan.
Kittle missed most of the game after the injury.
Additionally, quarterback Brock Purdy is dealing with left shoulder and toe injuries, with the toe issue being more significant. Shanahan indicated that Purdy’s availability for the upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints remains uncertain.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said the San Francisco 49ers are assessing quarterback Brock Purdy’s toe and shoulder injuries, with his availability for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints uncertain.
The shoulder injury occurred during an incomplete pass to Ricky Pearsall in the first half of their 17-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks, though Purdy played through it, completing 26-of-35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, including a game-winning 5-yard touchdown pass to Jake Tonges.
Purdy’s toe injury, the more concerning issue, has an unclear origin, and his status will be monitored over the next 24 hours and throughout the week. If Purdy can’t play, Mac Jones, who signed as a free agent in March and impressed in training camp despite a minor knee sprain, would start. Practice squad quarterback Adrian Martinez is another option, and Shanahan noted the team might consider adding another quarterback soon.
Star tight end George Kittle will miss “a few weeks” due to a hamstring injury sustained in the Seahawks game. Luke Farrell, Jake Tonges, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk will step in, with practice squad tight end Brayden Willis a potential game-day elevation.
Shanahan hasn’t ruled out placing Kittle on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games, depending on the injury’s severity.
Elsewhere, wide receiver Jauan Jennings awaits CT scan results for a left shoulder injury, though an MRI was promising, leaving open the possibility he plays Sunday. Left guard Ben Bartch is day-to-day with a mild knee sprain.
Meanwhile, kicker Jake Moody’s recent struggles—12 of 23 field goal attempts since Week 10 last season, including a missed 27-yarder and a blocked 36-yarder against Seattle—have the 49ers exploring options, including workouts or practice squad additions, though no final decisions have been made.
