49ers’ Deommodore Lenoir arrested in L.A. on obstruction charge

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was taken into custody in Los Angeles on Thursday night for obstructing justice, according to police.

The 25-year-old, who is originally from Los Angeles, was released from jail early Friday morning and is set to appear in court next month, as noted in jail records.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers approached a group that included Lenoir and spotted a gun inside a parked car. When the police requested the keys, another man threw them to Lenoir. Lenoir then passed the keys to a third man who attempted to hide them, according to several reports.

“The team is aware of the situation involving Deommodore Lenoir and is currently gathering more information,” the team stated.

In November, Lenoir signed a five-year contract extension with the 49ers worth $92 million. As a fifth-round pick in 2021, he has made six interceptions, defended 26 passes, and recorded 265 tackles during his first four seasons with San Francisco.
