Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquise Brown didn’t have the season he wanted in 2024.
The 2024 season was meant to be Marquise Brown’s comeback year with the Kansas City Chiefs, but fate had different plans. After completing the preseason,
Brown got hurt on the very first play of Kansas City’s preseason game, injuring his shoulder. This injury required surgery and kept him out until Week 16.

When he finally returned, he recorded 91 yards from nine catches in two regular-season games and then added five catches for 50 yards in three playoff games.
This wasn’t what “Hollywood” had hoped for, but did it upset him? “No, because I really leaned into my faith. I wasn’t coming back expecting anything,” Brown explained.
“I just wanted to help however I could; that was my mindset. It helped me get through the end of last year. I felt really grateful to have the chance to come back.”
Brown signed last offseason to assist Patrick Mahomes in getting his deep passes back on track, but being out for almost all of the regular season meant things didn’t come together right away, and the Chiefs learned that lesson.
Now, as minicamp continues, Brown is participating in offseason workouts again; however, he’s been through this before. While it’s unclear if he will play in any preseason games, the receiver is eager to start strong in 2025.
The injury took most of his 2024 season away from him, and Brown is ready to move forward and become a reliable target for Mahomes and Andy Reid.
