Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has reportedly lost a significant amount of weight as he prepares for his 13th NFL season.

Last listed at 250 pounds, Kelce had a tough year in 2024, finishing with just 823 yards and 3 touchdowns over 16 games—his lowest numbers for a full season. This drop in performance may have pushed him to make a big change this offseason.
Kelce is expected to show off a slimmer appearance when Kansas City’s mandatory minicamp starts on Tuesday. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Kelce has told those close to him that he has dropped “about 25 pounds” after playing heavier last season.
For more than ten years, Kelce has been one of the most effective tight ends in the league. However, at age 35, he seemed to lose some speed last season. Many wondered if he would retire after twelve seasons in the NFL.
Those doubts were cleared when the four-time All-Pro assured Pat McAfee in February that he was “coming back for sure” after feeling disappointed by the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kelce also committed to getting into the best shape of his life to help the Chiefs regain their top position in the NFL. If Fowler’s report is correct, it looks like Kelce is keeping his word so far.
