Tottenham Hotspur has officially signed Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a permanent deal, as announced by the Premier League club. They agreed to pay €40 million ($46.2 million), which includes bonuses, for the forward.

The 20-year-old player spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Spurs and helped the team end its 17-year wait for a trophy by winning the Europa League. During his time with the north London club, Tel scored two goals and provided one assist in 13 games.
After the coach who brought him to Spurs, Ange Postecoglou, was let go just 16 days after their Europa League victory against Manchester United in Bilbao, there were questions about Tel’s future.
However, he has now become new head coach Thomas Frank’s first signing since taking over from Postecoglou. Spurs have confirmed that Tel has signed a contract that will last until 2031.
