Stefon Diggs appears to be in sync with Drake Maye already.
The Patriots quarterback praised his new teammate on Monday, calling him an “awesome teammate” and recognizing the veteran’s achievements in the league. Whether or not Diggs heard Maye’s remarks, he returned the compliment a day later.
“I like him,” Diggs said to reporters when asked about working with Maye, according to CLNS Media. “I can’t say too much since I haven’t been out there much. But personality-wise, he’s a fighter. You can tell he’s a fighter from the start.”
Diggs, who attended mandatory minicamp after missing an OTA session, acknowledged Maye’s dedication during the offseason. “I can see he’s committed to getting better,” Diggs mentioned. “He wants to perform well. I know he’s been here all spring. Just seeing him out there — he’s been really helpful, too.”
As the Patriots wrap up their offseason program on Wednesday, it’s possible that their work will continue outside of Foxboro, Mass. It would be very beneficial if Diggs and Maye could train together at some point over the next six weeks.
