Liverpool make improved £113m bid for Florian Wirtz.

Liverpool has intensified their efforts to sign Florian Wirtz by submitting a higher bid of £113 million ($153 million) for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, according to sources from ESPN.

Leverkusen, a Bundesliga team, values Wirtz at £126 million. However, Liverpool’s latest offer is a slight increase from their initial bid of £109 million. This new proposal includes £100 million along with an extra £13 million in performance-related bonuses.

Liverpool is leading the race to acquire Wirtz since the German international has expressed his preference for joining Anfield over Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old player, seen as one of Europe’s bright young stars, is currently on international duty and is scheduled to play against France in Stuttgart for Germany’s Nations League match on Sunday.

With the early-June transfer window closing on Tuesday, there’s a chance that a deal could be completed if Leverkusen accepts Liverpool’s revised offer.

The summer transfer window will reopen on June 16 and will remain open until September 1.
