Georgia football offers son of 10-year NFL veteran

The Georgia Bulldogs have extended a scholarship offer to Amari Vickerson, a four-star defensive line recruit from the class of 2027. As a rising junior, Vickerson stands out as one of the best defensive linemen in Texas for his recruiting class.

Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 290 pounds, he has great size for his position. Vickerson plays high school football at Cy Ranch High School in Cypress, Texas.

Recently, he received impressive scholarship offers from major schools like Arizona State, Auburn, and Purdue. After receiving the offer from Georgia on June 4, Vickerson expressed his gratitude by saying, “Blessed to receive an offer from The University of Georgia.”

Vickerson is the son of Kevin Vickerson, a former NFL defensive lineman who played for ten years with teams such as the Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos. Kevin played college football for the Michigan State Spartans, who may be a team to keep an eye on during Amari’s recruitment.

Amari Vickerson is ranked as the No. 246 recruit in the country and the No. 27 defensive lineman. The Cy Ranch standout is the No. 35 recruit in Texas. As a sophomore, Vickerson showed the ability to disengage from blocks and did a good job of getting his hands up to deflect passes.
