NFL insider reports that Terry McLaurin feels ‘frustrated’ with the Commanders regarding contract discussions.

The Washington Commanders might soon face a holdout situation. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that wide receiver Terry McLaurin is unhappy with his current contract and is frustrated by the slow progress in negotiating a new long-term deal.

Schultz mentions that McLaurin participated in voluntary workouts but eventually left. Now, there’s uncertainty about whether he will show up for the mandatory minicamp later this month, as there have only been “minimal” discussions about an extension between him and the team.

McLaurin is entering the last year of his contract, which runs through 2025, and this season he has a cap hit of $25.5 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent after this season unless both sides can agree on a long-term extension.

At 29 years old, McLaurin had his best season yet in 2024, catching 82 passes for 1,096 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns. He quickly built a strong connection with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, helping lead the team to the NFC championship game for the first time since 1991.
