Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens reportedly “forced” his trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It’s not surprising that the Pittsburgh Steelers made some big changes after losing their last five games of last season. One unexpected change was trading their top wide receiver, George Pickens, to the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to the trade itself, where the Steelers received a third-round pick in 2026 and a fifth-round pick in 2027, the timing of this move was quite surprising since it happened after the 2025 NFL Draft. Usually, major trades happen before or during the draft so teams can quickly benefit from their trades. However, Pittsburgh made this trade on May 7, just a few weeks after the draft had finished. So, what caused the Pickens trade?

According to Pickens himself, he believes the Steelers traded him because he “forced” them to do it. He shared this opinion online in response to a video that pointed out his mistakes and questionable choices on X, although he has since deleted his comment.
