Al Hilal is looking into the option of signing Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes within the next two weeks so he can compete in the Club World Cup.
The team from the Saudi Pro League wants to make a big-name signing before the tournament starts in the U.S. next month.
Negotiations with Mohamed Salah came to an end after the Egyptian forward signed a new contract with Premier League champions Liverpool. This prompted Al Hilal to focus on other players, including United’s captain, Fernandes.

Officials at Old Trafford and head coach Ruben Amorim have firmly stated that the Portugal international is not up for grabs.
However, sources have informed ESPN that Al Hilal and Saudi deal makers think there might be a chance United will accept a huge offer for the 30-year-old. The club’s finances have suffered due to their failure to qualify for European competitions next season.
United was already struggling to meet Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), even after implementing various cost-cutting measures and laying off staff under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The club does have funds available this summer and has agreed to activate the £62.5 million ($84.2m) release clause in Matheus Cunha’s contract with Wolves.
